Who holds her accountable? Because it sure won’t be the audience. Alex Jones has TWO MILLION YouTube subscribers, roughly 100 times her audience. So I’m not so sure.

Let me ask it another way. What’s to stop her from peddling the very fake news she claims to be fighting?

Just because someone hangs a shingle and claims that they are the holder of knowledge doesn’t mean they are. Half the time she’s linking to the Russian Times as a source. That wouldn’t pass muster in a 10th grade English class, especially if your entire thesis is that the MSM are the one’s spreading disinformation. Where I come from we call that hypocrisy. She uses Russian state-sponsored propaganda to prop up the notion that she is fighting American propaganda. That is just bananas.

You’re just plain incorrect too about licensing committee and ethics boards being opaque and centralized, which is what I was specifically talking about. No, they aren’t. Not even a little bit. Not at all. All they do is establish a legal and moral framework for professionals to operate under. You know, to keep them from committing malpractice. Considering the amount of damage that crappy journalists can actually cause, I fail to understand why some measure of regulation and accountability is such a bad idea.
