Three years ago, when I first started writing for Medium, I made 300 bucks my second month. Last month I made 61. It has become far far far more difficult to make money on Medium now in part because Medium’s editors favor “woke” nonsense, stories about how awful white people are, terrible relationship advice, silly self-help, and narcissistic abuse. I wish they’d be a little more discerning about who gets to write behind a paywall. At this rate, the income disparity will mirror that of America’s in no time.
