I spent thirty minutes or so looking at the link you offered to support these claims. I have to say, the supporting information is, at best, suspicious.
While war is terrible, it is also easy to reduce it to numbers without context. For example, while Truman did drop two atomic weapons that killed about 150,000 people, military estimates for an invasion of Japan placed the number of American soldiers and marines killed at more than 500,000, and Japanese civilian deaths in the tens of millions. So, did Truman kill civilians? Yes. Did his actions end up saving millions of lives? More than likely, yes.
While Dems could have been a lot more critical of Obama’s use of drones, we’re no longer fighting traditional wars. And the Geneva conventions no longer apply.
To paraphrase a great quote from The Newsroom, if you’re playing basketball, it’s a foul if you touch someone with your hands. But if they pull out a knife, you are obligated to defend yourself, because you are no longer playing basketball.
